What is TOCFL?
TOCFL is a standardized Chinese proficiency test designed for non-native speakers. Developed by the Ministry of Education in Taiwan, it’s the official benchmark to assess Mandarin Chinese language skills. It aligns with international standards such as CEFR and ACTFL.
History & Evolution
Originally known as TOP, the exam was launched in 2003 and renamed TOCFL in 2013 with a revised structure. It now includes three bands (A, B, C) and six levels (1–6).
