If you miss a few classes, lack clarity on any concepts, or simply want to revise before the next level, you can attend any of our ongoing batches for up to a year from your registration. Levels

Beginners

30 hours, INR 9,440 (Inc. taxes)
The beginners level is for those who have had little or no prior introduction to the language. This level teaches the Korean writing system “Hangul” and the Korean alphabet. Students will learn native Korean numbers which are used to quantify nouns, how to introduce themselves, and demonstrative pronouns — this and that. They will learn to construct simple sentences to express themselves. Students learn basic greetings and how to talk about their interests, the weather, buying items, and exchanging currency among other topics.

Level 1

60 hours, INR 14,160 (Inc. taxes)
Level 1 is for students who have already learnt the basics of the Korean language. This course covers simple present, past, and future tenses and the construction of negative sentences. Students will learn important phrases in Korean, the basics of conjugation (informal polite speech and formal speech), telling time, and talking about cause and effect. We place emphasis on spoken practice and correct pronunciations.

Level 2

60 hours, INR 14,160 (Inc. taxes)
Level 2 is for students who have completed roughly 90 hours of language training. Students will learn to express emotions, use complex conjunctions, modify verbs, and use honorific forms. They will also learn to talk about people and family.

Topik Prep

30 hours, INR 9,440 (Inc. taxes)
TOPIK (Test of Proficiency in Korean) is an internationally recognised language test for non-native Korean speakers. There are two levels of TOPIK – I and II. TOPIK I has sublevels 1 and 2, whereas TOPIK II has four sublevels from 3 to 6. TOPIK I has only two sections – Reading and Listening. TOPIK II has three sections – Reading, Listening, and Writing. The 30-hour TOPIK preparatory course helps students prepare for their respective TOPIK levels, depending on their language training. To know which TOPIK is for you, get in touch with us.

Level 3A onwards

Levels 3 and 4 are divided into 2 parts, each consisting of 60 teaching hours. Levels 5 and 6 are divided into 3 parts of 60 hours each. Contact us for details.

Korean is the official and national language of North and South Korea, with over 79 million speakers worldwide. It shares similarities with Japanese, due to some vocabulary and grammatical structures, but is generally considered a language isolate (not descended from any other language).

The Oriental Dialogue’s Korean courses are designed for all age groups, and for learners of all levels. We also conduct preparatory classes specifically for the TOPIK test, the international test of Korean proficiency. 

If you have studied Korean before, or are self-taught, you may skip the earlier levels and start at the level which matches your skill set.
